Author | Editor | Copywriter | Freelancer-For-Hire
Hello everyone! Thanks for checking out my website.
I’m Chris Illuminati. My name is in the URL so I think you probably figured that part out already.
So who am I?
I’m an accomplished and sought-after writer with over 12 years of experience in editing, copywriting and online content creation.
My work displays a unique blend of creativity, attention to detail and humor.
I’ve written for Rolling Stone, The Daily Dot, AskMen, BroBible FHM, Fatherly, Men’s Health, Yahoo! Style, Cosmo, Fansided, Maxim, Huffington Post, The Good Man Project and Penthouse to name more than a few.
Here’s a link to my professional resume.
Books By Chris Illuminati
Besides my online writing, I’m the author of five books:
- Assholeology: The Science of Getting Your Way And Getting Away With It
- Assholeology: The Cheat Sheet
- Thank You for Not Laughing
- The Everything Big Book of Jokes (under the pen name Evan C. Thomas)
- The New Dad Dictionary: Everything He Really Needs to Know – from A to Z —
I’m the creator of A Message With a Bottle, a website and Instagram account where I make humorous observations on the insanity of being a single dad. My post-it notes on parenting have been featured on Mommyish, ABC News, Woman’s Day, Good Housekeeping, Country Living, Cosmo, Refinery29, 22 Words, Working Mother, Redbook, How To Be A Dad, and Good Morning America.
The notes will be published as a yearly desk calendar starting this year.
I’m the former managing editor of a men’s lifestyle site and performed stand-up in and around New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. One of his tweets was christened as one of the funniest jokes of 2013 by The New York Post, which is better than being in the paper for, say, doing something really dumb, offensive, or that comes with any sort of jail time, right?

KIND THINGS PEOPLE HAVE SAID ABOUT MY WORK
“It’s rare that you come across a standout talent like Chris. I’ve had the pleasure of writing with Chris for various outlets over the years and have lost track of how many times his work has brought a smile to my face or caused an earnest belly laugh.
I’ve always been in awe of his ability to weave a narrative together or land his comedic timing flawlessly. Oh, and one time he sent me a boatload of Pizzeria Pretzel Combos. I think it took six weeks before they were gone.
If you have a story that needs telling, Chris is the guy you want with a pen in his hand.” – Jason Moles, Agency Training and Consultancy Specialist
“It was an absolute pleasure to work with Chris. He was keen to get involved in all stages of the marketing communications process, but he was particularly good in the creative aspects. He is fun to have around, and I would wholehearted recommend him to anyone.” – Emma Samuel, head of UK Marketing, DropBox
